At CitizenPlane, we build technology that makes airline operations simpler and smarter, for airlines and passengers alike. Zenith is our core solution, a modern PSS evolving towards OMS. We design it to fit mid-tier airlines stuck with legacy systems, with flexible features and a modular infrastructure that can scale the way they need. Our partnership with Skyward Airlines is a strong example of that vision in action.

Skyward Airlines is a Kenyan carrier that operates daily flights and connects key destinations across the region. It has built a strong reputation on accessibility and convenience.
Kenya sits at the center of a major shift in travel landscape that requires operators to refine their travel strategies. In 2026, the region is projected to see double-digit growth in aviation capacity, driven by a 22% year-on-year increase in international seat capacity for Kenya alone. Travelers seek longer stays across the Kenya-Tanzania-Uganda circuits with multi-destination itineraries, allowing for seamless transitions between regional hubs. For the modern operator, success in this maturing market now requires a balance between aggressive digital distribution and high-precision yield protection.
Their 2025 rebrand under the promise "Fly Easy" signalled a clear ambition: straightforward booking, transparent pricing, and reliable service. To deliver on that promise, Skyward needed a modern platform to replace their previous fragmented system. They chose CitizenPlane.
The migration to CitizenPlane brought a single, cohesive ecosystem covering everything from inventory management and pricing to reservations, e-ticketing, and check-in. Skyward eliminated the friction and errors that come with disconnected systems, and gained the speed and stability needed to scale.
When Skyward took care of its tech, passengers felt the difference immediately. They could book faster with real-time seat availability and clear pricing, they could view, adjust, or confirm bookings with ease.
Beyond the core booking flow, Zenith expanded passenger choice and the airline’s competitiveness by providing flexible options regarding seats and ancillaries.
Skyward's decision to migrate to CitizenPlane came directly from passenger feedback on booking challenges, lack of flexibility, and the need for a more intuitive experience. CitizenPlane's role was to turn that feedback into a concrete solution.
The result is a partnership that demonstrates what modern airline technology should look like: local insight combined with global-standard infrastructure. As Kenyan aviation continues to grow and passenger expectations evolve, Skyward Airlines is now equipped with a platform that scales alongside their ambitions, and we are proud to power that journey.
