CitizenPlane unveils its revamped platform for mid-tier airlines

The company is launching a new passenger journey experience, a rebuilt API-first architecture, and AI-driven automation. The solution is built for carriers with fewer than 10 million passengers a year, giving them the modularity and flexibility that legacy systems cannot provide. The company will introduce its renewed interfaces at the Word Aviation Festival in October, 2026

Paris, October 5, 2026 – CitizenPlane today announced a full revamp of its airline platform. The company has rebuilt its technology from the foundations up, across the architecture that runs airline operations, the interfaces teams work in every day, and the journey passengers go through, from booking to boarding. The revamp spans the three modules of its Operating System and the shared foundations beneath them.

In 2026, we still see airlines running operations with 30-year-old systems that cannot adapt to their evolving needs. CitizenPlane's answer is a cloud Operating System built specifically for carriers with less than 10 million passengers: modular, integrated, API-first and designed to scale with the airline rather than constrain it.

"Airlines have told us the same thing for years: every change requires a ticket, and their systems limit what they can do. Our Operating System is designed to change that. We rebuilt our architecture to give airlines as much control as possible over their operations" said Hadrien Musitelli, CEO and co-founder, CitizenPlane

One Operating System, three modules

CitizenPlane’s three modules now run on a shared passenger data layer.

  • Zenith PSS is the operations core, from reservation to fares, passenger apps and departure control, evolving toward a modern Order Management System.
  • Pulse RM combines competitor fares, live demand and historical performance to improve pricing strategy and increase airline revenue.
  • Air Distribution connects inventory to more than 120 OTAs and metasearch platforms in over 140 countries, with no upfront costs.

The revamped platform is live on the new citizenplane.com, carrying a renewed brand identity that unifies the three products under one design language.

A passenger journey rebuilt from booking to boarding

CitizenPlane has rebuilt the three main passenger touchpoints, delivering a consistent experience customised to each airline’s brand. A new booking engine covers search to payment on desktop and mobile. Manage My Booking gives passengers one place to retrieve their reservation after purchase, update their details and access boarding passes. A new online check-in, mobile-first, carries ancillaries, payment and seat selection inside the flow.

New foundations, built for AI

Underneath, CitizenPlane has rewritten the foundations of its platform on modern architecture. The platform is API-first, so airlines connect their own tools and partners.

The architecture was built to make full use of AI. From 2027, airline will benefit from AI-driven automation. The same foundations carry the platform's move toward Offers and Orders, a transition for which mid-tier carriers have had the fewest options.

"Instead of rebuilding three products, we built one system and reviewed the three modules, until the architecture, the data and the experience matched. That's what a cloud Operating System means: the parts are useful alone and better together," explained Alexis Ohayon, CTO and co-founder, CitizenPlane.

The platform is available today. Airlines can adopt the full OS or start with a single module: Pulse is PSS-agnostic, and Air requires no upfront investment.
